The Wayward Woodvilles Are Going to Audio — With Your Help
I've wanted to bring the Wayward Woodvilles to audio for years. Ten books, ten scandalous love stories, and a family who never once behaved themselves. Readers ask me for the audiobooks constantly, and I've never been able to say yes.
Here's the honest reason why. A single audiobook costs thousands of dollars to produce properly, with a real narrator in a real studio. Ten of them is a sum I can't put on my credit card and hope for the best. And I won't take the cheap way out. No AI voices, not now, not ever. These characters deserve a human performer who can land a raised eyebrow and a whispered confession.
So I'm trying something new. I'm asking you.
The Wayward Woodvilles audiobook collection is now open for pre-order. All 10 books, human narrated, for AU$99. That's under $10 an audiobook, and it's the lowest price these will ever be.
How it works, plainly:
The audiobooks don't exist yet. This is a crowdfunded pre-order, which means the collection only gets made if enough readers commit. We need 520 pre-orders, and the campaign runs for 12 months.
You are not charged today. Your card is held, nothing more. If we reach 520 copies, you're charged then and production begins. If we don't, no audiobooks are produced and you're not charged a cent. No risk to you at all.
One thing I'll ask, though, from the heart. Please only pre-order if you genuinely want this collection made. Every pledge counts towards the goal, and cards that get cancelled along the way can sink the whole thing. If you're in, you're not just buying audiobooks. You're the reason they exist.
The delivery date is still to be confirmed. I won't book studio time until we're close to the goal, because it isn't fair to tie up a narrator's calendar on a maybe. The moment we're close, I'll lock in a schedule and tell every backer exactly when to expect their books.
And if the Woodvilles fund? The five Wayward Yorks are next.
Ten books. One wildly improper family. About to be read aloud, at last.
